LYTTELTON PORT CHARGES

RATES INCREASED. By Telegraph—Press Association,

Ghristchurch, March 20. The Lyttelton Harbour Board ap-. proved the new port charges as follow: Pilotage on sailing vessels over 100 ton's, 33d. per ton inwards, 3Jd. outwards; on steamships over 100 tons, 2ijd. inward's, 2Jd. outwards. Pert charges on all vessels within the limits of the port and coasting vessels of 100 tons upwards, 3d. per ton; 011 intercolonial vessels. 3d,; on foreign vessels, 3d. Mr. J. J. Graham, a member, protested that the increased charges would be passed on to the working man.
