| PATRIOTIC TOURNAMENT. On Saturday matches in connection with the patriotic lawn tennis tournament (commenced the previous week) were'continued. Tiio_ grass courts at Thonidon were not available on account of the rain, and all the ladies' events had, therefore, to bo postponed. Games played on the Brougham Hill and Wellington Club's courts resulted as follow:—

Men's Championship Singles.—W. H. Lees beat W. Irons, 6—o; 6—3; L. France beat C. Pearse, 4 —C, 6—l, 6—3; Fyfe beat Nicholson, 6—2, 6—2. Men's Championship Doubles. —W. H. Lees and J. Lees beat L. Franco aud Leicester, 6—3, 6—4; Howe Brothers beat Roberts and Ward, 6—2, 6—l; Ballaiitvn'e Brothers beat Instone and Lind, 3—6, 6—4, 6—4; Howe Brothers beat Fyfe and Grady, 6—l, 6-2. Men's Handicap Singles.—W. Lees (scr.)' beat B. Van Staveren (20), 60-54; Ward (8) beat Reader (16), 60-38; Instone (12) beat Irons (26), 60—55; Fyfe (6) beat D. France (24),. 60—49; Andrews (14) beat M'Kelvie (24), 60-54. Men's Handicap ' Doubles.—Fyfe and Grady (16) beat Ballantyne Brothers' (16),'70-58. Combined Handicap Doubles.—Miss Hunt and Header (24) defeated Miss •Sinclair and Instone (18), 60—54.
