I'orcolß for dispatch by steamera and trains, with tho exception of the usual ferry steamers for soutUern offices, close at the Chief Post Office, Wellington, one hour beforo the advertised times of closing of mails.
The parcel .post mail per Main Trunk express closes at the C.P.O. at 11.30 a.m., and for . tho south per Ferry steamer at 6.45 p.m. Late letters for mails beyond tho Do, minion cannot in future be posted on the" steamer, but must bo posted in. the late, letter posting-box at tho Oliiof Post Ofllcs up to the appointed timo shown on the mail notice.
The advertised times for closing mails by steamers are liable to alteration (earlier or later) at any moment.
As the last cloaranco of tho City, receivers is. made at 5.45 p.m. on Saturdays, all correspondence for the Sunday night Auckland express must bo posted at the Chief l'ost (Jillco not later than 8 p.m. on Sun. day.
All books and samiple-paokots and newspapers for places within tho Dominion must be posted half an hour beforo tho ordinary letter-mail elosos.
Unless otherwise specified, registered Idlers anil iparcels-post packages must bo handed in and money-orders obtained one hour before the ordinary mail, closes. Tho mrtJllo are earnestly requested to register all letters containing money or valuables intended to be sent by post.
