Some little interest was aroused yesterday morning by the arrival of- the North-' ern Steamship Company's steamer Rarawa from New Plymouth. The vessel immedi ately proceeded to the Slip for overhaul and cleaning.

The Paloona, whioh arrived from Mel. bourne and Hobart, via, southern ports, yesterday, is scheduled to leave, at five o'clock this evening for Hob art and Mel bourne. Hobart for this trip only will be her first iport.

The Kauri arrived in port shortly after 6 p.m. last from San Francisco, via the south. If' able to discharge in time she will leave for Sydney on Saturday night.

With a further load of sheep tho Himltangi is expected to arrive at Wellington to-morrow from Waitangi, Chatham Islands. She will leave on the return jour, ney to the Chathams at 11 a.m. on .Hon. day. '

Tho Wiramera will leave Melbourne next Tuesday for Wellington, three days .late. The probable date of her arrival here ia Monday, March 27.

The trawler Nora Niven arrived early yesterday morning from a fishing cruise for tho strait, again, returning in the evening.■
