Grierson—that he. is a person of German extraction, aiid that , therefore he ought to W presumed to; have German sympathies. Lieut. Grierson is an officer of tho New Zealand Expeditionary Force. , ■ .
"Nobody ought, to take exception to Lieut.' Grierson being given an opportunity of clearing his good name," said the Prime.. Minister, -.referring to the subject yesterday. "Surely that is only British fair play- "Whatever the Germans may do, British people must play the game, and I believe they will."
