SCENE IN THE HOUSE OF COMMONS
A MEMBER SEVERELY ' REBUKED By Telegraph—Press Asdooiation—Copyright London, March 15. A scene occurred in the House of Commons 011 Sir A. B. Markham resuming the debate on the Army Estimates. He declared that Mr. Asquith's pledge __in regard to the calling-up of marnea men was being dishonoured. He said that Lord Derby was an honest English gentleman j Mr. Asquith was a professional politician. ■ Mr. Asquith had said that he would stick at nothing to win the war: the only thing I to which be stuck was his salary. There were loud cries of 1 'Shame!" • and "Insult I" • Sir A. B. Markham tried -to continue but his voice was drowijed by shouts of 'Withdraw I" ; Mr. Spaker said the remark was not disordrly, but members could form their oVn opinion as to its value. (Loud cheers. ) •
