VENTILATION IN SHOPS

A MAGISTRATE'S COMMENT.

By Telesra.pli.—(Special Correspondent.) Wanganui, March 15. Strong comments -were made "from tho Bench by Mr. W. Kerr, S.M., regarding the lack of ventilation iu shops and hairdressing saloons. He said thoy were particularly bad in tliia respect, and some in his opinion were absolutely insanitary. Ho referred to tho case before the Court, where tho occupier had to break the law for the purpose of getting some air into tho shop. Many picture theatres were also lacking in ventilation, and in-some parts of the Dominion it was nothing short, of a scandal. Ho did-not know why municipal bodies did not take more interest in theso matters, as tho life of the community was nffccted thereby.
