ACCOUNTANT STUDENTS' SOCIETY

A well-attended meeting marked t*<M opening of the 1916 session of the Wellington Accountant Students' Society . Vast evening. The president (Mr. Ernest W. Hunt, I' .1.A.V.) presided, and in hia opening remarks welcomed the visitors and new members. He referred to | several reforms - connected with tbe examinations, which had been effected as a result of a conference between the Now Zealand Society of Accountants' Examination Committee and the University Senate Committee. He also referred to the sharo the accountant students had taken in the war, over 40 members having enlisted for active service, and he expressed the hope that every other member who could possibly do so would follow suit.

The congratulations of tho society were extended to those members who had secured sectional and final passes at the November examination. The chairman announced that the next meeting would take place on April 5, when Mr. J. L.. Atcus, F.1.A..N.Z., would deliver on lecture on the "Verification of Assets."
