PETONE CLUB. The Petonc Rifle Club fired tho fifth match in. the second series at Waiwetu on Saturday, at' ranges 500 and SOU yards, ten shots at each. Some good shooting was put up, tho first live men averaging' 92.4 per man. llflmii. M'Lauchlan, with 95 out of 100, put up a good performance, as also did Minn. Carter with 94. The club's team/ which won. tho teams match at Greytown rifle Meeting last week against 19 others, consisted of Rilmn.. J. M'Lauchlan, J. Carter, A. Ballinger, W. Ballinger, and H. Russell.' At the Wairarapa Rifle Association's annual prize meeting at Greytown, the ohampionship was won by Vt Ohura, with a score of 453 (13 above last year's championship score). Warn (Kaiapoi) was second with 443, Vlood (Christchurch) third with 441, Ching (Wellington, last year s champion) fourth with 440, and Wanganui) fifth with 439. The Midheld aggregate was also won by Williams, vnth a score of 295, Ching and Wood being, seoond with 294 each.. ,
