IBi Olencov.i •There will be Tacing at Te Aroha today. . The Nelson Jockey Club's annual meet, ing will be held on Hie Richmond course on Wednesday and Thursday. The V.R.C. Autumn Meeting will bo continued to-morrow, when the star item will be the Australian Cup, two miles and a quarter. After the-form of'Patrobas in the St. Leger, there is no doubt which horse,will start favourite. The Wallace horse will be ridden by R. Lewis, who was 'associated with his victory in the Melbourne Cup, lownit. who finished third ill the Newmarket Handicap on Saturday, has won the big six furlongs twice previously. At Trentham the jumper Silver Monarch is in steady work, and so far is standing up to his training. . Jockey A. Worinald, who had a fall oB First Glance at Trentham, and lias been in the, Wellington Hospital suffering from a broken bone in his foot, is now nearly recovered, and expects to leave that institution this week. Rcrohou is again located at Trentham, and is now trained by H. Kingan. . The two-year-old Blackhill (All Black— Killindine) has left A. Goodman's stables, and is rio-re trained by W. Garrett at Opaki. Trickery, who was sold recently by the Messrs. Riddiford, is to fulfil his engagement in the Maiden at Nelson. Ho ia now trained by J. Gibson. Humorist, a member of C. Priichard'a Trentham team, has been working very well at headquarters, rw! is likelv to 6tart favourite in the Maiden at Jtfelson on Wednesday. For the convenience of visitors to the' Nelson races, tlie departure of tho Patecna from Nelson for Wellington on Thursday next will be delayed until 8 p.in. J. Lowe is at present breaking in a two-vear-old' filly by All Red from Hermosa. She is tho property of the Messrs. Eiddiford. Fifteen horses remain in tho Australian Cup, which forme the leading attraction at Fleinington to-morrow. All tho wellfancied candidates stand their ground. It seems assured that the three-year-old Patrobas will start favourite, notwithstanding the fact that ho will be tarrying 71b. over weight for age. It is a great task thnt baa been set the son of Wallace, one that has proved beyond the cnnabilitics of better-performed three-year, olds in years sons by. On .the otter hand.
