FIR-E IN HIS PULPIT. The congregate of Lyniington Parish Church, Hants, was alarmed one Sunday evening to see a Jlamo shoot upwards in the pulpit, from which the vicar, the R-ev. C. Bostock, was preaching. Electric light is installed throughout the church, and this having fused in tho pulpit, the minister's surplice was sot alight. He fortunately noticed and extinguished tho Haines before any serious injury was received by him. lie stopped the fcvvice immediately, and railed for help, and the current was switched off. The congregation remained seated and was perfectly quiet. The minister descended the pulpit and concluded the service. Part of the pulpit waa damaged by tho firo and discoloured.
