. i AN EVENING MEETING. An athletic sports meeting was conducted by tho Wellington Athletic Club at tho Basin Reserve last evening between 6 and 7 o'clock. Three races were got olf, there being quite a fßir attendance of tho public present. The results of the events uro as follow:— 100 yds. handicap—First heat: W. Maxwell (syds.), 1; .11. Morris (scr.), 2. Also started: 11. T. M'Lean (syds.). >AV. Kyau (Gyds;), and Tressider (3yds.). A good racc,- won by about a foot. '.I'i'rne, 10 4-ssec. Second heat: G. Seay (4yds.), 1; E. W. Lloyd (6yds.), 2. Also started: R. Adams (scr.), W. O'Sullivau (4yds.), and Pound (4yds.). Won easily by about 3yds. Time, lOscc. Filial: G. Scay, 1; E. W. Lloyd, 2; R-. Morris, 3. Won by 2yds. Timo; 10 1-osec. One-mile walk —A. E. M. Rowlands (scr.), 1: B. Tracy (120 yds.). 2. Also started: M. Tracy (140 yds.) and C. Brock (190 yds.). Won by Byds. Time, 7min. 2Ssec. Ono-mile run —Maxwell (95yds.), 1; W. Drummond (40yds.), 2; D. O'Sulli»van (40yds.), 3. Also started: B. Ballautyne (scr.), G. Tressider (25yds.), G. Bilderbeck (25yds.), F. Hodson (35yds.), T. Auton (55yds.), Dickson (9oyds.), Lyell (100 yds.), and A. B. Wilson (100 yds.). Won by about 15yds. Time, 4inin. 51sec.
