THE MIRAMAR UNIT. 'lie-Miniature Rifle Club in connection with tho Miramar unit of the National Reserve have just completed a series of silver spoon competitions, tho carious winners of which wcro: Private Wilson, Private J. Day, Lieut. NortonTayfor, Lce.-Oorpl. Bramwell, and Private Tomlin. The highest scores on tliese occasions wcro: fcicut. NortonTaylor, T>B; Corpl. A. E. 11. Rowland, C 8; Sorgt. T. 0. FoS, 67: Privates S. 66; Wilson, 65; and Mercer, 65. 'iTicse competitions are beiiif; continued everv H'oncla.v evening. . The committee have decided To throw tho club membership open to all members of the iinlt, froo of subscription. The weekly pat-ades held on Tuesday evenings have of late teen well up to the previous standard, there being an ■average attendance of about 28. On Tuesday last about this number paraded at the local Town Hall, under Lieutenant Norton-Taylor, \vho_ put the unit through some useful section movements. Afterwards tho platoon was handed over to Corporal A. E. M. Rowland, who has undertaken to instruct the unit in musketry, and some interesting work was carried out under his supervision. The officer commanding has arranged for a separate section of the Miramar unit to bo trained at Seatoun under Sergeant Home, and once every month this section will drill with the platoon at Miramar. The unit will drill as a platoon at Seatoun onco ovcry month.
