NEW ZEALAND COUNCIL. THE WILDING MEMORIAL, Tho quarterly meeting of the council of tho New Zealand Lawn Tennis Association was held last- night. Jli. Barry Keesing (Auckland) was in tho chair, and there were also present, Mr. G. Gore ami Mr: W. L\ lnstone (Canterbury). Mr. J'\ l'\ Grady (Hawke's Bay), Jlr. S. Parher and Jlr. I'. Thomson (Marlborough), Jlr. 11. (J. Murray and Mr. A. \V. young (Otago)', and Mr. W. Melody (Wanganui).' The Management Committee reported that tho sum of £10 Gs. 'had been reeoived from 23 affiliated clubs for tho Wilding Memorial. The secretary, Jlr. A. I'etherick, stated that a furthor amount of £.1 2s. Od. had been received from three clubs since the report was made up. The Canterbury Association had a considerable sum in hand, but in other places tho amounts "wore small. It was decided that a further appeal to clubs must be made. Regarding the ball to be used in the championship meeting in 191G, tha matter wa6 left in the hands of tho Management Committee, the opinion being expressed that if the war until tho end of this year there would he no meeting in 1916. A motion sent forward by the Auckland Association was carried, to tho effect that lists of club members bo forwarded to the council on March 31, instead of September 30 of each- year. As tho change involved an amondment of the rules, the matter was referred to the association. It was also decided to adopt a recommendation by the Management Committee that in view of tho present conditions and consequent shortage in club membership, that subscriptions for 19151916 by affiliated associations be tho same as last year, less 25 per cent, rebate.
