The captain and second officer of the Westburn were also kept on the Jloewo for making false nationality signals before capture. While the Westburn was lying at Teneritfc the prisoners saw boats plying from other interned German vessels, and it is supposed they removed the Appam's gold, the prize crew's munitions, and stores.. A tug and launch accompanied the" Westbum seaward, and later anchored three-quarters of a mile off the shore, and was' sunk in forty-live minutes.
