SWIMMING

On Saturday next a Soldiers' Afternoon is to bo held at Te Aro Baths, under the auspices of the Wellington Swimming Centre. All tho soldiers from the different camps have been advised to attend, and an interesting programme has been drawn oip by the promoters. _ Apart from the soldiers' races, there will also be a,number of events fqr local swimmers. During the afternoon selections will be gven by the Trentham Band. As the Centre is hearing the wholo expense, the entire proceeds will bo handed over to the Mayoress's Countess of Liverpool Fund. In place of the usual fee of admission, it is intended to take up a collection.
