THE,EE YEARS 1 PROBATION. By Telegraph— I'rees Association. Auckland, February 24. 11l the Supremo Court, Charles Harden, found guilty of forgery and utterlug, camo up for sentence. It was stated tint accused was for fifteen years Crown Solicitor at Wostport. He made a fresh start at l'almerston North and was there struck off the rolls for two years for not accounting for £150. His good conduct subsequently enabled him to be readmitted to practice, in Auckland. In the present ease, it was urged, there was no intent to defraud.
Mr. Justice Hosking said he believed tho_ offence was not duo to criminal disposition, and ho recognised tlio prisoner would probably- again bo struck off the rolls. Prisoner was admitted to probation for thine years conditionally that lie does not enter an hotel unless on business, and drinks no intoxicating liquors unless on the doctor's orders.
