'' ■ Thomas Butler, 'who holds a grazing license over Sections 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, and 14, Block XV, Town of Horopito West, applied for a permit to split firewood and posts thereon, and it was resolved to grant it free of payment of royalty. With reference to the Board's resolution of December 22, 1915, granting a permit to occupy cottage on Sections 2 and 3, Block VIII, Ohakune Township, lit a rent of ss. per wek from December 1, 1915, it was resolved to rescind the former resolution, and to allow Mr. Mellsop to occupy rent free provided 'ho keeps the cottage in a reasonable state of repair. Patrick Sheahon applied for a permit to occupy Sections 8, 9, and 10, Block I, Horopito.West Town, 3 roods, and it was resolved to grant it from year to year at a rent of .£1 10s. pe rannimi, subject to the usual conditions. An application for'9l7 acres of Crown land in Block XI. Ngamatea S.D., was received from P. Baddcley on behalf of his son, and it was' resolved to advise 'inn that at present there is no power to grant the application. J. A. Ross applied for a lease of Section 30, Block IV, Mangaone Survey District. —Granted. It was resolved to appoint Mr. J. B. P. Sutherland, Crown lands ranger, arbitrator for the Board, for the purpose of carrying out the arbitration required in ternis of Sections 151 to 155 of the Land ' Act. A declaration of loss of lease by George Hevbert Gilford, lessee of Section' 7, Block T. Aohangn District, was received, and the necessary procedure having been carried out it was resolved to issue a new lease, and on the same terms and conditions under the provisions of Section 04 of the Land Act, IMS.—Approved.
