MIRAMAR UNIT. The weekly parade of the Miramar Unit on Tuesday owning last was well attended. Interesting work in company drill was done by the members, under the direction of Lieut. Norton-Taylor, the spacious flats of the district affording scope for extended movements. " SHOOTING COMPETITION. At the Lower Hutt Drill Hall last evening, a shooting competition took placo between teams representing tlia llutt and Petone units of the National Reserve, fhe results were as follow •— Petoue, 906 (average 60); Hutt, 852 (average 57). Inspection was looked for and expected on more than one occasion, but no officer attended, 't. is felt that an occasional visit from the officer commanding would, do much towards assisting to keep the men together, and it is hoped that tho forthcoming year will give this privilege.
