NATIONAL RESERVE

WELLINGTON SOUTH COMPANY. Since Captain Renner consented' to take over the instruction of the Wellington South Company notable advancement has been made. The captain has communicated his own enthusiasm to the members, and the consequence is that every week sees added interest and increasing attendances. The number on parade on Saturday was almost double that of the previous week. A very interesting afternoon's drill was indulged in, and a very lucid explanation of all the movements, from the "Fall in" to tho cease fire after an attack, enabled the members to appreciate somewhat all a soldier has to team to become efficient. It is intended to supply the men with blank ammunition, so that an even bettor understanding of.fighting conditions will be conveyed to those taking part. The afternoon's _ work concluded with some exercises' in bayonet work. Major Firth, who was in attendance, addressed the company on the conclusion of tho afternoon's work.
