ROSENEATH RATEPAYERS

L MEETING OF THE ASSOCIATION,

The monthly meeting of the Roseneath and Oriental Bay Ratepayers' Association was held in the schoolroom, R-oseneath, last night. Mr. T. Ward presided. It was decided to call the attention of the council to the dangerous condition of the road from Point Jerningham to Ballona Bay. In some parts the load is not more than from twelve to thirteen feet wide, and on the seaward side, in places ; there is a considerable drop, making it almost impossible for two conveyances to pass, and with no provision whatever ' for pedestrian traffic, which is very considerable at times. Recently a serious accident took place at this part of the road. It is absolutely necessary that something should be done to prevent further accidents 'from taking place. The association decided to write to the City Council, asking if it was their intention to proceed with the erection of bathing sheds at Ballena Bay this season.
