In the Supreme Court, Mr. "Justice Cooper save judgment in the action by John William Bines against Edwin Clements, claiming £300 damages for alleged misrepresentations in negotiations. for tho purchase by plaintiff of certain land m the Whangaroi district. His Honour hold that the statements made by defendant wero false ' and fraudulent, for the purpose of imlucine plaintift to buy the property, and were a material factor in inducing plaintiff to buy. In His Honour's opinion, £100 was a fair sum as damages. Ho crave liulßmeiit for that amount, with costs tna lower scale. J
