Tho accused failed to appear Or be reDresented by counsel. The charge was made under the War Regulations Act, 1914.
Evidence was given by John Stanbrook, railway porter, who Hated that accused was not drunk at the tune, but verv excited. He heard the language complained of.
In reviewing tho facts of the case Sergeant Honry informed _ the Court that accused was a Norwegian by birtli, but liad been resident in the Dominion for forty years. She was 70 years of ace.
In imDosina a ponalty of two months' imprisonment His, Worship observed that, the case was not one for a fine. It, was an illustration of gross ingratitude. Accused was no doubt well trcak ed in the British Dominion and enroved all the privileges of citizenship. Her utterances in this abominable case was one for severe penalty and showed the necessity for strict dealing.
