THORNDON BRANCH RESOLUTION'S. The Thorndon branch of the Amalgamated Society of Railway Servants revived on Saturday night: "That this large and representative meeting o'f the Thorndon branch of the A.S.R.S., held in the Social Hall, February 19, emphatically protests against the attitude of the Minister of Railways with regard to the increase of' pay for vailwaymcn. Further, we consider that the members of the A.S.R.-S. have borne with this
attitude long enough, and demand an oil-round increase of at least 2s. per day, so as to enable the raihvaymen and their !o hold their own against the unpatriotic exploiters of the railwaymen's patriotism." "Thai, failing a satisfactory reply within a fortnight, the Executive Council be urged to return to Wellington immediately to consider what further drastic action shall bo taken."
"That, in view of the unsatisfactory Interview with the Prime 1 Minister and the Minister of Railways, this branch 'now calls upon the Executive Council to at once convene the special conference, as requested by tho thirty branches, representing 3000 members."
