FATALITY, AFTER DIVINC
Allen Earle, 20 years of age, a labourer, employed at Johnsonville, died ot the Wellington Hospital on Saturday morning from injuries supposed to have been sustained while diving in a shallow basin of water known as Moxhtyn's Pond, near. Johnsonville. On Thursday evening ho went to the pond with five other men .for the purpose of bathing, and while'there ho twico dived into three or four feet of wator. Nothing unusual in his health or appearance was noted at the time, hut lie' commenced to stagger when walking home. Next morning he was found under his hod In ,an unconscious condition, and Dr. Saunders was called in. The doctor ordered his removal to the Wellington. Hospital. where he died on Saturday morning, without having regained consciousness; An inquest will be held. GUNSHOT WOUND. Major West was admitted to Wellington Hospital at 6.15 p.m. yesterday suffering from a gunshot wound in the left hand —the result- of an accident. ACCIDENT TO A CLERGYMAN.
