DEFENDED ACTIONS. Decision was reserved by Mr. W. 6. Riddell, S.M., in the ease of Jesse Taylor v. A.- L. Wilson and Co.. a claim ior £80 165., brought to settle the question as to tlie proper method of disposal of the proceeds of a sale of chattels—whether they should be handed to the landlord of premises or to the holder of a bailment over chattels. Mr. A Dunn appeared for the plaintiff, while Mr. J. S. Barton appeared for tho defendant. In tjje ® ase of J- B. Hulbert v. Peter M Aeill (heard before Mr. D. G. A. Cooper, S.JI.), tho claim was for £1. but the plaintiff's case failed, and tho defendant was awarded 2s. costs. In the case of the Now Zealand Express Co. v. Corporal A. Trcnkersen, judgment was given for tho plaintiff company for the amount paid into Court with an extra, £3 7s. 6d. claimcd, and costs £1 12s. 6d. A RESERVED DECISION. Reserved decision was delivered bv Mr. AY. G. Iliddell, S.M., in the case of John Mwnrd .Butler, Ltd., v. J. Bouclicr, a claim for £20 3s. 3d., balance alleged to he owing on the sale of a motor-bicycle. Judgment was dolivernoi To , 011 the claim for &-1 13s. 3d., with costs £4 25., and judgment for the defendant on tho coun-ter-claim lor £5 155., with costs £1 9s.
POLICE CASES. Police ,cases were taken before Mr. , ' V"- A- Coopei- S.M. For drunkenness? 1 nomas William Brown £as fined i/d, in dehuilfc to undergo fourteen days' imprisonment. George Cooper Wilkinson, who did not appear to answer a chajge of drunkenness, was ordered to forfeit his bail (£1). Three first-offend-ers were convicted and discharged. JUVENILE COURT. i,of k ! d .' J ;, car , s ?, f age, appeared before i.lr. D. G. A. Cooper, S.M., yesterday morning on two charges of serious assault. He was committed to the Burnham Industrial School.
