TALAWA SAILS THIS .EVENING. It is expected that the liner Talawa, now discharging New York cargo here, will get away this evening for Hohart instead of to-morrow morning, as was announced. TUTANEKAI DUE TO-DAT. The Government steamer # Tutanekai, which has been cruising in northern waters with His Excellency the Governor and suite, ia expected back at Wellington this morning. THE HINEHOA DUE TO-DAT. The Government 6teamer Hinemoa 16 due from the north to-day. She will call at The Brothers to land mail and stores, and will probably show up about 10 o'clock. She will be dispatched early next week to visit Oook Strait lighthouses, when Lighthousekeeper Cox wiil be transferred from Palliser to The Brothers. Keeper M'LeiEh, of The Brothers, will go to Palliser. CYBENA WITH OIL. It is announced that the steamer Oyrena, 2138 tons, is to leave Singapore in about a fortnight's time with a cargo of caso oil for Auckland, Napier, Wellington, and Lyttelton. The Cyrena is due in Wellington about the end- of March, and has some 30,000 cases of oil to discharge here. DELPHIC FKOM" NEWCASTLE. Advice has been received that the liner Delphic left Newcastle at 3 p.m. on February 15 for Picton. She should show up there about the cud of the week. MESS-TABLE GOSSIP. Mr. C. D. Vaughau-Evaus, third officer of the Maori, lies come ashore for orders. Mr. Gerring, second engineer of the Kakapo. who has been on holiday leave, arrived from Sydney by the Moeraki yesterday en route for Auckland. Mr. V. S. Peterson, chief officer of the Mouowai, was compelled to go ashore at Auckland owing to ill-health. Mr. A. C. Dalgleish, second officer, and Mr. H. Anderson, third, have each been promoted a step pro tern. Mr. P. J. Hickey, late chief engineer of the- Mokoia, arrived in Wellington yesterday by the Monowai on holiday leave. The Canopus, after an extended absence from this port, is due here ou Friday evening with coal from Wefitport. Tho Himitangi loft for the Chatham Islands shortly after noon yesterday. She will load sheep for Lyttelton. The Tainui arrived here from Lyttelton yesterday morning, iihe will clear for London on Monday. Tho Waimate is expected to arrive at Auckland on February 27, and should show up here about May X. The Flora is due hero on Sunday from Auckland. She will sail again at 5 p.m. on Monday for Oaniaru, Timarn, and the Bluff. Cargo will be received np tiH 3 p.m. The Whangape is to leave Westport this ovouing for Wellington. Sho should arrive here to-morrow night. The Tarawera was expected to leave Lyttelton shortly after 10 o'clock last night for Wellington. Sho will discharge 360 tons of cargo here, and then proceed to Napier, Gisborne, and Auckland.
