BURIAL AT HOVE. The funeral of the Right Hon. Sir •Joshua Strange 'Williams, formerly a Judge of the' Supreme Court of New Zealand, and afterwards the first representative -of that Dominion in the Judicial Committee of. the Privy Council, took place at Hove on December 23. The obsequies were of a very simple and unostentatious nature, but the Government ,of New Zealand was represented by the High Commissioner (the Hon. Thomas Mackenzie), and , the Prime Minister (the Eight Hon. W. F. Massoy). cabled Lady Williams the sincere condolences of the New Zealand Government and expressed the sorrow with which the news of the. death of Sir Joshua Williams lias been received there. "No man in the Dominion," stated the Prime Minister, "was respected more highly than your esteemed husband, the late Judge, and his long service and high legal' standing made his name a household word." ~ A message of "deepest sympathy" was ako received from the Minister of Justice (Hon. A. L. Herd man). The chief mourners were: Lady Williams' (widow), Miss Williams, Miss Dora Williams, Miss Constance Williams, and Miss Gw-enda Williams (daughters), and those ivlio also left 103, The Drive, in carriages for the Hove cemetery were: The Hon. Thomas Mackenzie, Sir James Mills, Mr. Coates, Mr. Douglas M'Lean, and Mr. Moss Davis, well-known New Zealand men who happened to bo in London on business and came specially to pay a tribute of respect. Mr. Cyprian Williams, the dceeased's brother, was prevented from attending owing to illness. The Rev. Wnltcr Frist (curate of All Saints') conducted the service in' tho cemotery chapel, and also at the graveside. The floral tributes included a magnificent wreath "From the Government and people of New Zealand, in affectionate remembrance of their beloved and hononred Supremo Court Judge," and another from the New Zt-aland War Contingents Association. In addition to those from tho members of the family, wreaths, etc,., were sent by Sir James and Ladv Mills and Miss Geraldine Mills, Mrs. Katcray. Mrs. Pownall Williams, Mrs. Cvprian Williams, Mrs. Wilson, Mrs. Russell Smith, Miss M'Laren, Mrs. Twopeny, and the maids and the nurses.
