« At a meeting of Koro Koro' and ' Maungaraki settlers, Mr. W. H. Long presiding, a report prepared by the ' Pet-one liorough engineer on the ques--1 t.ion of lighting the district and stating tho cost of taking power from the pumping plant/ was considered. Subsequently the following motion was car- \ ried unanimously;—" That this meeting is of the opinion that the time has arrived when Koro Koro and Maungaraki r should bo inaugurated with Petone in a ' satisfactory lighting system for street ■ and household purposes, and whilst not ' altogether satisfied with the report sub- ' mitted requests the council to go fur- ' tlier into the matter." Maungaraki residents complained of ' not being included in the postal cle- • livery. Owing to only one delivery > being made at Koro Koro it was pointed ! out that many important appointments * had been missed. It was finally re- ' solved;—"That tho I'ostmaster-Gdncral " be asked to grant the same postal deliveries to Koro Koro and Maungaraki 3 as is now made at Petone; and that the Telegraph Bureau be moved to a t more central position, namoly, the new k store." 3 The meeting also decided that it was an injustice that any Koro Koro rater ' payer should he rated for !no eastern drainage.
