LONDON AND BRISTOL.
Sir, —Replying to your footnote to m; letter of 3id instant, I did not over look the fact that Mr. Vavasour sai<i his company was now graciously prepared to Teceive consignments for tondon. It is most interesting to learn" that he is willing to even admit the existence of ports other than Bristol, and it would be still more interesting to be told by Mr. Vavasour, whether consigning to London was part of the original programme of his company, or ■ , whether the greatly superior claim's of London (where he found things "truly awful") were forced upon them, notwithstanding his statement "that the facilities at Bristol were eoual, if not better, than anything in tHe world.' r —I am, etc., M. A. ELIOTT. Palmorston North, February. 4.
