A SENSATIONAL STORY
SINKING OF THE BRINDISI By Telegraph—Presß Aswiciation—Copyright (Rec. February 4, 9.45 p.m.) Athens, February 3. Mr._ Martin Donohoe, tho "Daily Chronicle's" correspondent, has obtained a sensational story from Miss Lamos, an American, who is a survivor of the Brindisi. Miss Lamos states that many Montenegrins vowed that if the vessel wero torpedoed they preferred suicide to an ignominious death by drowning, and they kept their word. While the Brindisi was settling down scores of Montenegrins gathered aft, sang the National Anthem, and shot themselves. Miss Lamps jumped overboard, and after swimming in ice-cold water, reached a plank. Others did the same, till the plank was overloaded, and was submerged. : There was a terrible light'to retain the coveted plank, but the others succumbed to the cold. Miss Lamos, who was heavily overcoated, was alone when rescued.
