FATALITY AT BELMONT
——♦ — A SOLIJIER KILLED. Shortly after' the troop train from. Wellington to Trentham had passed tho Belmont Station just before 1 a.m. on Saturday, a soldier. 'Private G. E. Aitchinson,' who had been on leave in Wellington, fell from oiie of tlie platforms and was killed. On the incident being reported to the guai'd, the train was pulled up. Tho body of the soldier was found quite close to the line. It was only too obvious .that the train had passed over it, t -life being extinct. The deceased came from Dunedin, and was a member of- the 12th Reinforcements.
