SWIMMING
' THE NEW TEPID BATHS.
Arrangements are well in. train for the four-night swimming gala which will herald the opening of the Public Tepid Swimming Baths, lately completed in Tasman Street. The baths will be formally opened on February 8, when admission will be by invitation onyl. Races and exhibitions of swimming will hold sway on that nglit, and also on the three subsequent nights— the public opening night, the special children's night, and the night set apart for lie soldiers. An attractive programme of races and competitions has been drawn up,, and entrance sheets are posted up at To Aro and Thorndon Baths, at the camps, and also at 'the Tepid Baths. The Primo Minister (the Rt. Hon. AV. F. Massey) has announced his intention of opening the baths on' February 8.
