THE MASTERTON TOrRNAMENT. (From Our Special Correspondent,). I Masterton, January 26. The Masterton Lawn Tennis Club's annual tournament was brought to a close on Tuesday evening. The men's championship singles was won by Lampe, of Wanganui; the men's handicap singles by James, of Masterton; tlie men's handicap doubles by James and Cowan; the ladies' handicap singles by Miss 11. Hughes, of Pahiatua; the combined handicap doubles by Gawith and Miss Pain, of Martinborough; the men's championship doubles by Gawitii and Lampe; the ladies' championship doubles by Misses Pay ton and Hughes; the combined championship doubles bv Gawith and Miss Hughes; and the ladies' handicap doubles by Mrs. Hulme and Miss Pain. The tournament was very successful from a tennis point of view, though the attendance of the public was not large.
