AMATEUR ATHLETICS
At a meeting of the Wellington Centre (N.Z.A.A.A.), held- last evening, it was decided to hold the Wellington Provincial Championship and M'Villy Shield competition at Masterton during carnival week, early in March. The Woodvllle Amateur Athletic Club was granSed permission to hold •. the country clubs' championships on a date to be agreed "upon by tho Wellington Centre. The Victoria University A.A.C. will hold' an evening meeting on the Basin Reserve on February 2. Events—looyds., 440 yds., and one milo, all-open handicaps. On February 16 the Wellington Centre will hold the second evening meeting. Events — 220 yds., 880 yds., a-nd one milo walk handicaps, also a 100 yds. and 880 yds. open to boys of primary schools.
