NATIVE SCHOOL TEACHERS CONFERENCE

By Telegraph—Press Association. Auckland, January 21. The Native School Conference concluded to-day. A resolution was passed in favour of the establishment of observation schools, and also the extension of term holidays, in order to enable teachers to attend instructional classes in methods of teaching.. Rotorua was selected as the place for fhe next conference.

The conference passed the following resolution: "That tnis association places on record its appreciation of the services rendered to the cause of education by Sir Edward Gibbes during his term of office as Secretary of Education, and tliat 'in thanking him for many kindnesses, wa, as Native school teachers, have received at bis hands, we express our regret that the time has arrived when he must sever his connection with the Department."
