Ho is transferred from C Company to Battalion Headquarters, and is. attached to A-Company for administration. . Corporal Meade, Details, has been appointed Q.M.S. at Trentnam. .

Soldiers and the Races. ■ In order to make up some of the time lost for training purposes entailed by the granting of leave to the troops to attend the races, tho • men have been paraded at eight each morning this week, instead of nine o'clock, ana training nas been continued till 5 o'clock in the afternoon, instead of half-past four, the usual liour of tho evening' dismiss. * This necessitated au alteration of the running of the troop trains to the city for the men on evening leave. The presence of the troops in uniform at the races added to the Brightness of the scene, nearly 5000 of Siem boing present. Tenth on Leave. The Tenth Reinforcements have begun their extended leave.' During this week numbers of them have left Tauherenikau for all parts of the dominion, atid by Sunday next all the Tenth will have left tho camp on leave. On their return they will go into the new Featlierston Camp, and will afterwards go under canvas for a time. These troops have made good progress with their training while at Tauherenikau. Trentham Gamp Full. With the Eleventh and -Twelfth Infantry, Artillery and Engineers, the Tenth Artilery and the n.c.o.'s for the Twelfth and Thirteenth Reinforcements m the camp, every hutment in Trentham is in use, and a number of tents of the Indian service pattern have heen erected in the artillery part, to accommodate the overflow. With tho completion of additional hutments now being erected, these tents will not bo required. Awapunl Gamp. The late acting-superintendent of the Auckland Hospital, Dr. A. M'Gregor Grant, has received a commission as captain in the New Zealand Medical Corps, and is now in Awapuui Camp. Dr. Grant was closely connected with the work of organising and equipping the convalescent homes for soldiers which have recently been established at Auckland.
