NOT LICENSED PREMISES. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Auckland, Januaiy 18. At the Police Court, James Arthur Frost was charged with being a bookmaker. He made a bet on licensed premises known as _ the Working Men's Club and Mechanics' Institute. Accused was barman at the club Evidence was given that 011 December 3 he produced a double chart, and made bets. The Magistrate held that a chartered club was not licensed premises for the purposes of tho Gaming Act, though 60 far as concerned the sale of liquor it was licensed premises. 'The charge was dismissed.
