HEAVY ENLISTMENTS. By. Telegraph.—Press Association. Auckland, January 18. 'According to a statement made by Mr. Phelan, . secretary :of the Tiniber Workers' Union,: 500 members of the union, out of a financial membership of 1400, are now on active service. KaipaTa, in the Northern Wairoa district, is nearly denuded, of eligible timbeiworkers and carpenters, in one case ■aut of 19 men who were m a- bush camj> *=4 Hokianga 17 have enlisted.
