"Wager" asks the following questions: (1) The name of the first man killed at the Suez Canal (New Zoalander). (2) How killed? (3) How does the country compare with the towns (in proportion to population) re registration for active service? The answers are:—(l)' Sergt, Ham; (2) died of gunshot wounds; (3) the comparison is in favour of the towns, but it has to be remembered that country men have registered in town
