LOWER HUTT COURT
A sitting of the Lower Hutt Magistrate's Court was held yesterday, Mr. D. G. A. Cooper, S.M., presiding. Mr. J. Citdby, J.J.'., was also oil the Bench. Robert Hart, Cecil* Sawyer, Bert Peck, Lionel'Hobbs, A. M. Alexander, Patrick Coffey, Wm. Burns, David Kay, Joseph Turner, A. Mudgway, and Gilbert Johnston were each fined Ss., with 7s. costs, in default twcivtv-four hours' imprisonment, for riding bicycles without lights. Leonard Cloako was charged with being the owner of a motor-wagon not duly licensed by tho Lower Hutt Borough Council, lie did permit such wagon to be used on tho Main Road. Mr. H. F. Ayson appeared for tho Borough Council, and asked for a substantial penalty, as defendant had been similarly charged before. Defendant, ivho did not appear, was fined £6, and costs 28s.
