TWO AUSTRIAN VESSELS ' SUNK By Ttlegrapb—Freßß Association—Copyright (Rec. January 2, 5.5 p.m.) Rome, January 1. Ail Austrian oruiser with five destroyers attempted to repeat the exploit of bombarding Durazzo. They were allowed to approach and open fire. Then the Italian, British, and French cruising, squadron appeared. A seaplane was launched from the Austrian ' cruiser, which was just in time to notify tho cruiser that the Allies were coming, when a shot through the motor sent the seaplane headlong into the sea, and the Allies attacked the squadron, while torpedo boats attempted to cut off the retreat. 1 The seaplane's warning, however, enabled the Austrians to fly, leaving the Triglav and Lika (destroyers) in a sinking condition. Some of the' Lika's crew were made prisoners, but the Triglav sank, with all hands. FRENCH SUBMARINE SUNK. AUSTRIAN TRANSPORT LOST. (Rfie. January 2, 5.5 p.m.) Paris, January 1. A French communique says:—On the night of December 28, prior to the fight off Durazzo, an enemy cruiser sank the French submarine Monge, most'of the crew being made prisoners. Another French submarine torpedoed and sank a transport conveying war material ill tho Adriatic.'
