Statistics for 1915 show an excess of exports over imports of £20,000,000 sterling, whereas the advert.-! balance during the previous five years aggregated £20,000,000. Tho Government also sold £10,000,000 worth of arms and munitions, resulting in a great increase of the reserve of European specie. There has been a boom in stocks, some having risen several hundreds per ceut. Enormous profits in shipping and other industries are shown.
