HOLIDAY ATTRACTIONS
Holiday crowds have been visiting the various seaside resorts round about Wellington, during the past couple of days, and co-day all the bays aro sure to be again well patronised. There will be special tram sorvices to meet the requirements of the public, while the Eastbourne Borough Council has announced a special time-table for its boats runto Day's Bay, Eona Bay, and Muritai. A patriotic tennis tournament, commenced oil the municipal courts at Day's Bay oil Saturday, will be continued today. There is also a tournament at Hcrefcaunga. Race meetings will be opened to-day at Clareville, near Carterton; at Awapuni, near, Palmerston North: and other places. These fixtures arc more particularly referred to in our sporting columns. The annual picnic and sports, organised by the Catholic parishes of the City, will be l>eld to-day at Karon Park. A special tram service is part of the arrangement for this fixture. 'Ilia annual 'gathering at Dean Lane's grounds, Lower Hutt, will take place as usual. Attractions for the holiday evenings will bo offered at the Grand Opera House, where the J. C. Williamson Company will open this evening with tho comcdv drama, "Hought and Paid For." Special attractions are being put on at His Majesty's Theatre, tiio King's Theatre, Everybody's, and the Empress.
