CONVALESCENT SOLDIERS

' ' ' — 4CAMPS AT SANATORIA. It is the intention of the Minister of Public Health (the Hon. Mr. (i. Wllussell) to visit ltotorua this week to inspect tho completed arrangements for the opening of the new convalescout camp for soldiers. A commandant for the camp is to be appointed, and the camp work will be conducted by orderlies selected from the convalescing soldiers, • assisted by such other members of the Forces as might be necessary. Tho Commandant will be a military officer of high' rank, and ho will exercise full control ever the , institution, which will be run on the strictest military lines, the object being to assist the men back speedily to health and strength. Preparation is being made for as many soldiers as will require treatment. Seventy can be . accommodated 'in tbe sanatorium now, in addition to the men who will bo located at the camp. Arrangements are being made for fcfio establishment at Hanmer of a similar oamp, on a somewhat smallor scale to'start with. At Itotorua Dr. Herbert, Government Balneologist, and at Hanmer Dr. Henry, formerly superintendent of the Invercargill General Hospital, will bo in supreme control of the medical affairs.
