NATIONAL RESERVE
There was only a small muster for the final parade of tlie Miramar unit lor 1915 011 Tuesday evening. Instead of a route march, which had been planlied, a short time was spent at physical exercises, after which tho parade was dismissed. A .visit was paid to the company by the Hataitai Senior Oadot. Drum Band. After givng a drum display, the iads were formed up, and Major Townsend, on behalf of Lieutenant R. TI. Nimmo, mado presentations of medals to two of their number. The first) was to Sergeant Drummer Littlcjohn, as a token of appreciation of his action'in foregoing stripes and remaining in tho ranks for the sake of the band. Major Townsend said ho had no hesitation in predicting' that before many years had passed over his head tho recipient' would bo wearing even more honourable badges. The second medal for general eflieiencj went to Corporal Drummer Chapman, who was described by Lioutenant Nimmo as the best boy bass-drummer in the North Island. Hearty applause from tlie members of the Reserve greeted the lads as tliay stepped forward to receive the jqco&IEU
