French. Guiana, United Kingdom and Continent of Europe, close at Auckland, per Niagara, on Tuesday, December 28, at 8 a.m. As correspondence for all neutral countries is subject to censorship, it is urged in order to avoid delays that such correspondence be posted in ample timo for thfl mail, the day previous to its dißpatch if possible.

The advertised times for closing mails by steamers are liable to alteration (earlier or later) at any moment.

The parcel-post mail per Main Trunk express closes at the G.P.O. at 11.30 a.m., and for the south, per ferry steamer, at 5.45 p.m. On Friday, tho 24th inst., the Carriers' Department (entrance upstairs from Featherston Street) will be open for tho delivery of correspondence addressed to streets in the city and suburbs from 8 to 9 p.m.; also the public counter for the delivery of correspondence addressed to the Post Office will be open from 8 to 9 p.m. The parcels delivery counter will be open from 8 to 9 p.m.

On Saturday, the 25th December (Christ' mas Day), the Postal Department'will be closed in all/its branches. Mails for dispatch by steamers will close at 8 p.m. on the previous evening, and the only diepatches of correspondence by trains will close on Christmas Day as follow:—For the Wairarapa, Hawke's Bay, Manawatu, Rangitikei, Wanganui, and Taranaki districts at 5.45 a.m., and for Auckland and Auckland district at 8 a.m. The city and suburbs receivers will not be cleared durinp the day, but thg midnight clearances wiU bo mode as usual on Sunday, the 26th December.

On Monday, the 27th December (Boxing Diiyl. tiie Chief Post Office will be open in all Its branches (except Money-order and Savings Bank) from 9 to 10 a.m. Mails for dispatch by steamers will close at 8 a.m., and the only dispatches of correspondence by trains will close as follow:—For Wairarapa. Hawke's Bay, Jlanawatn, Karigltik«l, Wonganui, and • Taranaki districts, at 5.45 a.m.; for Auckland and Auckland district at 8 a.m. There will be one delivery of correspondence by letter-carriers in the city and suburbs, which will close at tho Chief Post Office at 7 a.m. Thq street receivers will not be cleaml during the day; midnight clearances will be made as usual.
