The Trentham Camp Commandant has received, the- following telegram from His Worship'the Mayor of Wellington: —"I liave pleasure ion belialf of citizens to invite yourself "and your officers and men at- Christmas dinner at camp ay Trentham on Thursday, December 28, at 6 p.m. (Signed) Luke, Mayor." Returned Soldiers' Handbook. ■ This office has received an advance copy of the "Returned Soldiers' Handbook," wliich has been compiled and issued under 1 the direction of Major Norton Francis, Director of Base Records. ' The book, which run?-to-over fifty pages, contains numerous instructions dealing with returned soldiers from the New Zealand Expeditionary Forces. The matter is not new,: but the value of the hook lies in the fact that all necessary information is col-, lected and indexed under one liandysized cover. • Officers for Trentham. The following officers liave reported at Trentham for duty:—Lieut. C. N. Mitchell (returned from Egypt), Records; and 2nd-Lieut. P. J. S. George, Infantry, 13th • Reinforcements. The Men at the Forts. Representations were made to a DofiiNiON representative that while soldiers in camp were not being forgotten, those at the forts had been overlooked. The Mayoress (Mrs. J. P. Luke) states, however, that those men are being _caiered for, too. They are not being given a Christmas dinner, hut comforts and luxuries are being sent out to-Uipm for their pleasure on Christmas Day. : The Silver Cup. The silver Cup (presented by the principal medical officer at Trentham, and medical officers) for the best-kept hut .has been won by the 9th Reinforcements, Artillery Hut No. 9, who retain the ciro for the period Friday, December 17," .to Friday, December j 24.
