RESULT OF "LBS CLOCHES" SEASON.At n meeting of the qommittee of tho Wellington Amateur Operatico Society hold yesterday evening, the treasurer (Mr. Wm. Fra'ser) presented a preliminary balance-sheet in connection with the "L'es Cloches do Cornevillo" season, which showed a credit balance of about £40. It. is probable that the amount to credit ma.y be slightly increased, but in any case it is probable that the society will hand over a cheque for £100 to the if mid for Wounded Soldiers and Sailors. A letter was received from Mr. W. G. Wickhani, a member of the committee, containing some valuable hints as to the future working of the society. llegret was expressed that Mr. Wickham was leaving the Dominion, and tho secretary was instructed to write to him, conveying the cordial good wishes of the society for his future, and thanking him for tho kindly interest ho had taken in the affairs, of the society. It was also decided to forward a. letter of condolence and sympathy to Mr. A. W. Newton (stago manager), whose son's death at the front was recently recorded. .Mr. H. Plimmor was appointed a member to countersign all cheques for payment of accounts, foes, etc.
