STRIKE SETTLED
MEN GAIN ONE PENNY AN HOUR. Tho Btrike or liold-up at the stores of Messrs. Dalgety and Co.-, and the New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co., on tlio part of the wool storemen oil Monday was settled yesterday morning, and work was resumed forthwith. Ilio men asked for Is. Gd. an hour instead of Is. 3d., as at present, and 2s. per liour overtime instead of Is. Gd. now obtaining. A compromise was mado by paying tlie mon Is. 4d. per liour ordinary and Is. od. per hour overtime,; the rate to extend over .ill the Wellington wool stores for tho present season.
